Rootcode was founded in 2014 and has grown steadily over the past decade from a small startup into a globally recognized technology organization. Rootcode has scaled to over 100 employees and served more than 30 industries. To mark its 10th anniversary, Rootcode published a book documenting its journey, including the challenges overcome and the strategic decisions that shaped the company into what it is today.

Yes. Rootcode continues to expand its portfolio of high-impact partnerships. A recent announcement involves a collaboration with the City of Porto, Portugal, to build an AI-powered smart farming system combining a mobile application and custom IoT hardware to help farmers improve crop health management and agricultural productivity. This project follows earlier landmark work such as building an AI model training platform for the Government of Estonia, demonstrating Rootcode's growing capability in applied AI and government-facing technology at an international level.

Rootcode has received several prestigious industry recognitions. Most notably, it ranked #1 in the Asia Pacific region at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2025, the most competitive technology benchmark across the Asia-Pacific. Rootcode’s Founder & CEO, Alagan Mahalingam also won the title of Founder of the year of the GSA South Asia Regional competition in 2026.

ISO 9001:2015 covers Quality Management Systems, confirming that Rootcode's engineering and delivery processes meet a globally benchmarked standard for consistency and quality. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 covers Information Security Management, confirming that Rootcode follows rigorous protocols to protect client data and manage cybersecurity risk.
